Don't let the lack of swimming ability prevent you from coming out and give dragon boating a try as entry into the water is exceptionally rare and there is available floatation device. But realize that swimming is great cross training and certainly a good skill to have whenever you're around the water.

The more training you have the better paddler you become. Talk to our training group about your personal paddling goals and commitment level for the team. If you think you will be missing a training session because of the demands in your life, tell us, so we can assess if you’re on track towards achieving your goals and performance.

Like any other sports organization, the maintenance of equipment and administrative services do come at a cost. Should you decide to join ORD, an annual fee of 250 pesos will be paid to the team as member to the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF). A monthly fee of 200 pesos is collected to each active member for maintenance of team-owned equipment and paddles, and professional fees of coaches. However, team operations may be subsidized through sponsorship grants (for uniforms, transportation, food, etc.). Initial try-out paddling sessions are for free.

Yes! Onslaught is one of the most traveled teams from the docks of Manila Bay. We have competed several times to hosted races in the Philippines such as Subic Bay, the Uacon Lake, Camarines Sur, and Boracay. We have also been invited and represented PDBF to racing destinations abroad such as Malaysia, Macau, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Traveling for races, however, is completely optional for members as there are individual expenses to be incurred.
